Recycling for charities and community centres

Haringey Council is offering a free recycling collection service to charities, community buildings and faith centres.  The service can be used to recycle a wide range of materials, including paper, cardboard, plastics, cans and glass.  This service could save your organisation money, as you may be able to reduce the number of refuse bins you rent.  For more information please contact the Recycling Service on 020 8889 6618 (7am-2pm only) and ask to speak to Adrian Hanek or Jamaine Brown, or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The effectiveness of chairs of governing bodies

Research on the leadership role of chairs of governing bodies (boards, management committees) has been published by Charity Trustee Networks and NCVO. It is based on a survey on perceptions of the chair leadership role, including the quality of the chair's relationships, chair impact, and the influences on chair leadership. The least effective chairs were not seen as team players and were unable to manage inadequate performance of others.
