Health & Belief 2010

A grant programme funded jointly by three charitable trusts to support faith-based community projects in tackling poverty and health inequalities in London. Projects should demonstrate a link with a faith or belief group and/or a church or other place of worship; plans to consult/work with a relevant health agency; they are tackling the effects of poverty and addressing health inequalities; a new approach to a new situation or a thoughtful development in response to ongoing needs. Nationwide Foundation small grants

The Nationwide Foundation has expanded its Small Grants Programme criteria for charities working with older people. Small grants can now be applied for by charities working for the benefit of all older people to improve their housing needs or address financial exclusion. Read more Here

The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund

The Trust's current areas of interest for support are: Carers; Community arts and education (where no statutory sources of funding); Disability; Older people (particularly projects which maintain independence); Poverty; Integration and rehabilitation. Successful projects will either maintain an open, inclusive society or promote integration (or reintegration) of individuals or groups into society. Read more here  

Cash 4 Clubs

Cash 4 Clubs offers all sports clubs in the UK the chance to win grants ranging from £250 to £1000. It is a simple scheme aimed at giving community clubs a helping hand and provide the opportunity to raise the money they need to invest in their club. Read more here

 

 
Tilley Awards 2010

The Home Office has now launched the 2010 Tilley Awards. The awards champion the best multi-agency projects across the UK that use problem-solving to reduce crime and make communities safer. Projects that entered the 2009 Tilley Awards successfully addressed a wide range of crime types including anti-social behaviour and youth crime, metal theft, child sexual exploitation and domestic violence. For the 2010 Awards the stand-alone category invites applications from partnerships that can demonstrate that they have successfully embedded problem-solving in their area. Deadline: 30 April 2010. Alternative to Custody

The Charles Hayward Foundation currently has grants available under its Criminal Justice programme. This grant focuses on alternatives to custody such as victim support services and schemes to help prisoners maintain links with their families, as well as the rehabilitation of offenders. StreetSmart

StreetSmart supports a wide range of homeless organisations. Successful applications receive support for projects aimed at helping the homeless to make a better life for themselves, focussing on mental and physical health, employability and sustainable independent living. Small Charities Coalition

The Small Charities Coalition is like a free voluntary sector matchmaking service, enabling small charities to help each other to achieve their aims and objectives by exchanging the skills and resources they have, for those they don't. This model of support is self-sustaining; small charities helping small charities but the coalition underpins this support with help of larger charities. One of its aims is to bridge the gap between large and small and it aims to do this by encouraging the largest charities to allow their key staff time-off to support small charities under the guise of staff development.
