The Home Office has now launched the 2010 Tilley Awards. The awards champion the best multi-agency projects across the UK that use problem-solving to reduce crime and make communities safer. Projects that entered the 2009 Tilley Awards successfully addressed a wide range of crime types including anti-social behaviour and youth crime, metal theft, child sexual exploitation and domestic violence. For the 2010 Awards the stand-alone category invites applications from partnerships that can demonstrate that they have successfully embedded problem-solving in their area. Deadline: 30 April 2010. Read more here Alternative to CustodyThe Charles Hayward Foundation currently has grants available under its Criminal Justice programme. This grant focuses on alternatives to custody such as victim support services and schemes to help prisoners maintain links with their families, as well as the rehabilitation of offenders. Successful applications receive support for projects aimed at helping the homeless to make a better life for themselves, focussing on mental and physical health, employability and sustainable independent living.
